Infection Prevention Needs a New Normal
Podcast – Episode 45
September 14, 2021
Today I have the great pleasure to be speaking with R-Zero's Co-founder and CEO, Grant Morgan.
While most of us were busy hoarding toilet paper or binge-watching Netflix, Grant Morgan was working on a plan to change the world. As co-founder and CEO of R-Zero, he's democratizing access to hospital-grade biosafety technologies, restoring trust in our common spaces and the organizations that operate them, and helping establish a new standard for public health in the COVID-19 era and beyond.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Grant realized he was in a unique position to save lives — and to revolutionize the $200B+ infection prevention industry. With a proven entrepreneurial track record and an extensive background designing medical devices and IoT enabled hardware, his skillset was tailor-made to meet the moment.
Soon, he and a small team were working day and night to reverse-engineer the hi-tech biosafety equipment used in hospitals across the country, searching for ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Less than six months later, his newly-founded company shipped its first product — a portable UV light tower capable of destroying 99.99% of pathogens in a room in minutes, and at a fraction of the cost of commercially-available alternatives.
Since then, R-Zero’s trajectory has been meteoric. Grant has assembled an all-star team featuring seven former founders or CEOs, booked $5M in sales in 3 short months since shipping the first product, and secured the backing of top venture capital firms and cross-industry thought-leaders. Today, R-Zero’s products are in use in thousands of classrooms, restaurants, and small businesses, helping to pave the way to a new normal — one that’s healthier and safer than ever before.
